Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI)، part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU)، is Qatar’s national research institute focuses on water، energy، and the environment in desert and arid regions، aiming to anticipate and solve critical challenges facing Qatar and the world. QEERI conducts market-driven research and fulfills national advisory and educational roles. Alongside proposing strategies and contributing to policy-making، QEERI connects academia with the industry and market، providing them with the necessary fundamental and applied research inputs.

Position
HBKU seeks applications for the position of Scientist. The applicant will contribute to the research agenda of QEERI focusing on energy and water securities. This will be by developing an independent research program in one of QEERI's research domains working to support the grand challenge projects.

Job Role Description
Conduct research independently or under limited supervision as a member of a research team.
Generate high quality scholarly output including archival journal papers، patents and conference presentations.
Prepare research proposal submissions to appropriate national and international agencies in order to secure competitive funding.
Actively participate in research conferences and seminars in the field of expertise.
Report and treat data with a high level of integrity and ethics.
Provide occasional contributions to the education programs within Education City or Qatar within the field of expertise where needed.
Supervise postdocs and graduate students.
Undertake other duties commensurate with the position as required and indicated by the research director.
Perform all work in a safe manner and in conformance with applicable regulations.
Minimum Knowledge، Skills & Experience
PhD in engineering or science.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
A record of 5+ publications and scholarly output.
A contributor to original research.
A proven record of conducting successful research independently or as part of a team.
