Job Purpose
|
Assistant , Associate or Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at Clinical
Sciences Department, College of Medicine, to teach pharmacology and
therapeutics for medical students within an integrated, Problem based
curriculum and perform research within the domains of interest of the
University.
|
Main accountabilities & expectations
|
- Scholarship and professional development within area of expertise.
- Undergo training to qualify as a facilitator in the
problem-based learning program, with ability to link basic knowledge to
be applied in clinical scenarios.
- Academically Advise undergraduate students.
- Active participation in departmental assignments, university committees, and student activities.
- Actively participate in relevant professional activities in order to improve teaching and subject matter competence.
- Serve on faculty committees as appointed or elected.
- Participate in other activities as assigned by the department chairperson or college Dean.

Preferred Qualification & Experience
|
PhD (or equivalent ) in Pharmacology. MBBS is preferred.

Competencies
|
- Prospective applicants holding PhD or equivalent with an
Excellent record of academic performance, and demonstrated expertise in
pharmacology and therapeutics are encouraged to apply. Preference will
be given to candidates who have :
- Strong teaching skills and experience.
- Experience in computer-assisted delivery of course content.
- Has good record in research.
- At least 3 years teaching experience in higher education institutions, medical/health sciences.
- Experience in Problem-Based Learning is highly desirable.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (In English).
- Strong interpersonal skills that can produce effective
professor-student interactions during both one-on-one (student advising)
and in group (classroom) sessions.
- Sincere interest in assisting each student within a diverse
and multi-cultural community to maximize their academic, spiritual and
personal potential.
- Team player that is motivated to strengthen and advance the department.
