The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) houses ten departments، covering a wide range of undergraduate specializations in the Arts and Sciences including English Literature & Linguistics and Arabic Languages، History، Sociology، Social Work، International Affairs، Mass Communication، Psychology، Policy، Planning & Development، Statistics، Chemistry، Biological Sciences، Environmental Sciences. The College also houses Master Programs which are in Environmental Sciences، Gulf Studies، and Arabic Language. Duties & Responsibilities
Job Description
The Gulf Studies Program seeks to find a candidate at the PhD level with research and teaching expertise within the broad range of International Relations and Politics.
This position calls for applicants who are qualified to teach International Relations and Politics in the Gulf. Candidates need to have a good understanding of the Gulf. Effective teaching، commitment to service، student advising، and the potential for scholarly productivity are part of the responsibilities involved in this position.
All QU Faculty members must demonstrate effectiveness in the following categories: teaching، academic advising and program development، scholarly research، professional or creative activities and institutional/community service.

Duties & Responsibilities
1.Teach courses and supervise students in the area of International Relations and Politics of the Gulf.
2.Contribute to various committees at the Program، College، and University level.
3.Contribute to the research profile of College through research publications.
4.Serve as graduate student advisor.
5.Provide advice، support and supervise student’s research and thesis
6.Provision of a general educational lectures and sessions for students
7.Active participation in the program and college activities and committees.
8.Offer significant input into the further development of Gulf Program.
9.Provide service to the profession، university، the community، and the State of Qatar.
10.Perform other academic duties in accordance with Qatar University academic by laws.

Qualifications
Qualifications
1. Ph.D. in International Relations، Politics and other relevant degrees.
2. Record of Graduate Student Supervision
3. Strong peer-reviewed publication record.
4. Relevant teaching experience at the graduate level.
5. Specialization in the Gulf and Middle East Region.
6. Familiar with educational technologies used in higher education sector.
7. Willingness to work with teams.
8. Awareness of working with people from diverse backgrounds.
9. Proficiency in Arabic and English is required.
