Job Description:
We are looking for a Middle School English teacher for an August 2021 start. We are looking for an individual who can motivate students based on their own passion and talent for their subject. Candidates should be innovative, experienced and emotionally intelligent practitioners, who will work with our students to engender a deep and reflective approach to learning.
Teachers must create lesson plans, incorporate technology, administer praise and constructive criticism, instruct and inspire students in English. Experience with California Common Core is an advantage.
Duties and responsibilities are:
Encourage learning through experience
Provide support to the learning environment
Develop and produce visual aids and teaching resources
Observing, assessing and recording each students' progress
Maintain and schedule weekly and monthly activities
Participate in ongoing in service and education development opportunities
Advise and cooperate with the Head of Department, and Curriculum Coordinator and other teachers in the preparation and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching programmes, methods of teaching and lesson planning and assessment
Register and monitor the attendance of students
Make use of technology during the delivery of the lessons
